Chemical Peels in Leawood, KS
Targeted exfoliation, customized to your skin.
Chemical peels can help improve concerns such as hyperpigmentation, post-breakout discoloration, acne, rough texture, dullness, uneven skin tone, and signs of aging by encouraging controlled exfoliation and skin renewal.
At Everbare Esthetics, chemical peels are never treated as one-size-fits-all. Your treatment is selected based on your skin, concerns, sensitivity, treatment history, pigmentation risk, current skincare routine, and goals.
The goal is not to choose the strongest peel. It is to choose the right peel for your skin.
What Can Chemical Peels Help With?
Depending on the peel selected, chemical peels may help improve the appearance of:
Hyperpigmentation and uneven skin tone
Post-breakout discoloration
Acne and clogged pores
Rough or uneven texture
Dullness
Fine lines
Signs of sun damage
Two clients can have the same concern and still need completely different treatments. Peel selection is based on how your skin behaves, not just the concern you want to treat.
A Chemical Peel Should Fit Your Skin
Before choosing a peel, I consider more than just your skin concern.
Your skin type, skin tone, sensitivity, treatment history, current products, pigmentation history, and how your skin responds to inflammation all matter.
Using a stronger peel does not automatically mean better results. A peel that is too aggressive for your skin can create unnecessary irritation and may actually work against the results you are trying to achieve.
My approach is to use the level of treatment your skin is ready for and progress only when appropriate.
Chemical Peel Options
Level 1 Chemical Peel — $95
All clients begin with a Level 1 peel unless we have previously discussed advanced treatment experience and I determine that your skin is ready to begin at a higher level.
Level 1 peels allow me to evaluate how your skin responds while still providing targeted exfoliation based on your concerns.
Level 2 Chemical Peel — $125
Level 2 is a more intensive treatment for clients whose skin and treatment history indicate that they are ready to progress.
Your previous response to treatments, skin sensitivity, pigmentation risk, concerns, current skincare routine, and treatment goals are considered before moving to Level 2.
Peel level is determined by skin readiness, not by how quickly you want results.
Chemical Peels & Deeper Skin Tones
Skin tone is an important consideration when selecting a chemical peel.
Medium to deep skin tones generally have more active melanin production and can be more susceptible to post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, also called PIH. This is darkening of the skin that can develop after inflammation, irritation, or injury.
This does not mean deeper skin tones cannot receive chemical peels. It means the treatment should be selected carefully.
If your skin is more prone to pigmentation, I may adjust the type or intensity of your peel, recommend additional preparation before treatment, or make changes to your homecare routine first.
I consider your skin tone, history of hyperpigmentation, sensitivity, current skincare products, previous treatments, and how your skin typically responds to inflammation before choosing a peel.
Protecting your skin from unnecessary inflammation is part of getting good results.
Why Pre-Peel Preparation May Matter
Some clients may benefit from preparing their skin before receiving a chemical peel.
Your individual pre-peel instructions may include:
Using sunscreen consistently
Temporarily discontinuing certain exfoliating products or active ingredients
Supporting a healthy skin barrier before treatment
Adjusting products that may increase sensitivity
Preparing skin that is prone to hyperpigmentation
Not every client needs the same preparation.
Your instructions will depend on your skin, the treatment being performed, and the products you currently use.
New to Everbare? Start With a Facial.
Chemical peels are not available as a first-time service at Everbare Esthetics.
Before receiving a peel, you must first have a facial with me.
This allows me to assess your skin in person, review your skincare routine and treatment history, and see how your skin responds to treatment before introducing a chemical peel.
If I am not able to assess your skin and see how it reacts to a facial, I cannot confidently choose the right peel for you.
Best case, the peel is too mild and does not give you the results you are looking for. Worst case, it causes unnecessary irritation or damage.
I will not take that risk with your skin.
If you are new to Everbare and interested in chemical peels, begin by booking a Customized Facial.
What Level Chemical Peel Do I Need?
You do not need to determine your peel level yourself.
Unless we have previously discussed your experience with advanced treatments and determined otherwise, your first chemical peel at Everbare will be Level 1.
From there, I will consider how your skin responds before recommending whether it is appropriate to continue with Level 1 treatments or progress to Level 2.
Chemical peels are meant to be progressive treatments. Moving to a stronger peel before your skin is ready does not guarantee faster or better results.
What Should I Expect After a Chemical Peel?
Your experience after a chemical peel will depend on the type and intensity of treatment performed.
You may experience temporary:
Dryness
Tightness
Sensitivity
Mild redness
Flaking
Visible peeling
Not every chemical peel causes dramatic visible peeling. The amount of peeling you see is not necessarily an indication of how effective your treatment was.
You will receive aftercare instructions based on your treatment.
It is important to follow those instructions, use sunscreen consistently, and avoid picking, pulling, or manually removing flaking skin.
Allow your skin to shed naturally.
Chemical Peel FAQs
Will my skin actually peel?
Maybe, but not necessarily.
Some chemical peels cause noticeable flaking or peeling while others create very little visible shedding. The amount of peeling depends on the treatment and your individual skin response.
Visible peeling is not required for a chemical peel to be effective.
Are chemical peels safe for darker skin tones?
Chemical peels can be appropriate for deeper skin tones, but peel selection and preparation are especially important because pigment-prone skin can be more susceptible to post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation after irritation.
Your skin tone, pigmentation history, sensitivity, and previous treatment response are considered before selecting a peel.
Which peel level should I book?
Unless we have previously discussed advanced treatment experience and determined otherwise, clients begin with a Level 1 Chemical Peel.
You do not need to choose the strongest treatment yourself.
Can I receive a chemical peel at my first Everbare appointment?
No.
New clients must first receive a facial so I can assess your skin, treatment history, sensitivity, homecare routine, and response to treatment before performing a chemical peel.
How much downtime should I expect?
Downtime varies.
Some clients experience mild dryness or flaking, while others may have more noticeable peeling. Your expected recovery will depend on the peel selected and your individual skin response.
Does a stronger peel give better results?
Not necessarily.
The most effective peel is the one that appropriately matches your skin and treatment goals. Using a stronger treatment before your skin is ready can increase irritation without producing a better outcome.
